NVRPA Junior Golf Academy at Brambleton Boys and Girls - ages 6-13 All skill levels Four day Summer Golf Camps are open to all Junior Boys and Girls, ages 6-13. Camps are held Monday through Thursday, 9:00am - 12:30pm. Camp itinerary includes basic instruction as it is appropriate for the child's age and skill level. We will help each camper with their full swing and short game fundamentals, rules of golf, and golf etiquette. Range and on-course activities will involve various games, however, all camps are non-competitive and are designed to be FUN! Approximately 50% of campers' time is spent ON THE GOLF COURSE!! All camp activity is designed to be fun! Our counselors are a mixture of high school, college, and professional golfers. Camper/Counselor ratio: 4:1. Campers are grouped according to age or according to "who wants to play with whom!" Each group will develop its own character, and create activities tailored to that particular group. As a guideline, the following is meant to be a representative of some of the activities that will be offered: Day One: Register - receive logo shirt, hat, tee pack, golf ball, and bag tag. Meet counselors and follow along as the counselors play the 18th. hole at Brambleton, orienting the campers to the golf course and various terminologies. Divide into "foursomes" and meet with individual counselors on either the practice putting green or chipping green and begin work on the proper set-up for the golf swing: grip, stance, posture, and ball position. Day Two: Foursomes will divide their time between the driving range and the short game green, working on swing fundamentals. This will include information about the various types of clubs and their function. Each foursome will compete in a putting competition as the final activity for the day. Day Three: Foursomes will proceed to the golf course to play a minimum of two holes, learning the game of "pars" while working on their swing fundamentals. Campers will work on trouble shots and bunker shots. Putting competition. Day Four: Each foursome will proceed to their assigned golf holes with their counselor and play the game of "captain's choice." Each group may create various 'competitions' as appropriate for their specific group. The cost of each camp is $235 The cost includes range balls, greens fees, shirt, hat, bag tag, tee pack and daily snack. Each participant should bring their own equipment, however, clubs are available for those Junior Golfers who do not have their own. Junior golfers are placed into small groups, and are grouped according to age and skill level.
